Dark Bats are characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They first appeared in Sonic Unleashed. They are also called Dark Floats. They are Dark Gaia's minions that are fought in the Night stages of Sonic Unleashed. They can float, but are harmless. They can be used to cross gaps.
